Ir. Azman is a registered Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate (PEPC) with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM) and a Member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, Malaysia (ICDM) with over 38 years of experience in the Oil & Gas/Energy, ICT, Infrastructure and Corporate Sectors.

He started his career in Shell in 1987 as an Instrumentation Engineer and went on to become a Lead/Project Engineer from 1991 to 1995 for the MLNG Dua Gas Supply Project, one of the largest projects in the World at that time. This part of his career resulted in him managing work packages for Shell in the USA, UK, Australia, Italy, Japan and Singapore in addition to work carried out in Malaysia.

Ir. Azman has vast experience in corporate operations and restructuring, M&A, contract management and major project implementation in Malaysia and globally, and also founded a software development company that was listed on Bursa Malaysia in 2004.

He is currently an Industry Advisory Panel member of the Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC), a government agency under the Ministry of Economy that looks at Energy Transition, Sustainable Development as well as ESG initiatives for the Oil & Gas/Energy sector in addition to his role in AERA.

He is also the Country Chairman/Board member of SPIE Oil and Gas Services (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, a part of SPIE Global Services Energy, a French based company of the SPIE group that has services revenue in excess of USD 8 billion globally.

He was formerly the Managing Director of Boustead Penang Shipyard Sdn Bhd, a Petronas Licensed Major Oil & Gas Fabrication company and the Group Director on Oil & Gas/Energy for the Boustead Group of companies in Malaysia.
